Plagiarism Policy

The editorial board of Madrasa: Journal of Islamic Educational Management strictly upholds academic integrity and does not tolerate plagiarism in any form. To ensure originality and ethical publishing, the journal has established the following policy outlining actions and penalties upon the identification of plagiarism in submitted manuscripts.

Similarity Check
The journal uses Turnitin plagiarism detection software to assess the similarity index of submitted manuscripts and final versions of articles ready for publication. A maximum similarity of 20% is permitted for submissions. Manuscripts exceeding this threshold will be returned to the authors for revision and resubmission.


Levels of Plagiarism and Penalties

1. Minor Plagiarism

  • Definition: A small section of another work is plagiarized, with no substantial data, ideas, or findings taken from the original source.
  • Action: The authors receive a warning and are required to revise the manuscript by appropriately citing the original source.

2. Intermediate Plagiarism

  • Definition: A significant portion of the manuscript is plagiarized without proper citation of the original source.
  • Action: The manuscript is rejected, and the authors are prohibited from submitting new articles to the journal for one year.

3. Severe Plagiarism

  • Definition: Extensive plagiarism is detected, including the reproduction of original data, results, or ideas from another publication.
  • Action: The manuscript is rejected, and the authors are prohibited from submitting new articles to the journal for five years.

Responsibility and Compliance

All authors are collectively responsible for ensuring the originality and integrity of the content in their manuscript. By submitting to Madrasa: Journal of Islamic Educational Management, authors acknowledge and agree to comply with the journal's Copyright Notice. If a penalty for plagiarism is imposed, it will apply equally to all authors listed on the manuscript.
